I re watched SS troopers recently and it is just so blatant and in your face. Yes, we're all more media literate than we were in 1997 but goddamn, they're handing military rifles to kids and having the kids stomp the bugs.

I remember getting into an argument with someone when I was in high school about how it was supposed to be horrifying that a telepath could tell that something we were told had no intelligence and only ravening hunger 'was afraid'; and apparently according to him I was wrong and a [redacted slur] for feeling that way. Imagine my surprise when I saw that peckerwood's mugshot during the Jan 6th rioter roundup.
