Where the fuck do you live where a fifty mile radius is pothole-free? I'm ten minutes from poorly maintained Interstate Freeway, State Highway, and major local thoroughfares connecting transit hubs. The most important roads in the wealthiest part of the region (Seattle Metroplitan Area) are in disrepair, our bridges are falling apart, so are our ferries (surprisingly important infrastructure). We have two passenger train lines, one shares space with (and makes way for) every ounce of rail freight and the other is generally poorly managed (their brand-new escalators break constantly, among other issues) "On time" is not usually an accurate description of the service.

I don't think you have an accurate view of your area. What bridge is falling apart? They just finished building the completely new 520 bridge a couple years ago, and it's perfect. The 90 also has no issues. The ferries are on-time and not falling apart. There is neverending constant roadwork on all of the major freeways. There's a huge construction project for traffic merging onto the 5 from the 520 right now. I haven't seen a single pothole on any major road in or around Seattle, including the poor side of town down by the stadium.

Edit: also, they just rebuilt the Seattle ferry terminal within the last couple of years and it's completely modernized. Personally I preferred the old one since it was bigger and had restaurants and bars to hang out in while you waited for the ferry, but that's another example of active investment in infrastructure.

You're so clearly full of shit. The ferries alone. We aren't getting a new boat for several years and we've been on reduced service while they juggle ships around to different routes, and we're just hoping for no more crashes or breakdowns in the meantime. (There were at least three last year) The fleet is old, half the ferries have been in service for over 30 years.

WSDOT says over 210 bridges in the state are in "poor" condition (formerly "structurally deficient", thanks Highway Administration for rebranding the scary words away) 21 of those are in King County.

I've never been on the 210 bridge. I don't even know where that leads to. But I gave very good, legitimate examples of recent investments in our infrastructure, and your response is overtly hostile and personally insulting for no reason. So we're done. Bye.
