fun fact: although 3S-GE can be traced back to May 1984, Toyota made 5 generations in total. The 5th and final generation is known as a black top and is a Breakthrough Engine with Advanced Mechanism System (BEAMS engine).
Equipped with Dual-VVTi, power output was 210PS @ 7600rpm; 216Nm @ 6400rpm. Power output is comparable to the K20A (High Performance), which was only applied on Honda Type Rs close to 2 decades later.
