SNES.
The fact that all the retro indie games try to mimic the SNES style shows how big that era of gaming was.
GBA era is a close second, but that was basically a portable, higher powered SNES.
SNES was an outstanding follow-up to the NES.
1980 - 2010
it was a good 30 year run
