Yes, because 17 year olds are children. /s. They may be legal minors, and you may even consider them not fully adults, but they're definitely not the same as an 8 year old.
If we made it 16, you'd say the same about 15. And so on. There is a reason society implemented the age of consent.
And in the UK, the age of consent is 16. As it should be.
Way to tell on yourself
As someone who supports the right of mature people to make their own decisions? Yes, but I don't know why you're saying it like it's a bad thing.
In other countries it's set at 13 so fucking irrelevant what other countries do.
