Right, the entire thing was sarcasm. But his point was "hey we're letting off these petty criminals in my state, so I'm just gonna say it's completely fine to put a felon in the White House"

His whole point was to mock the Democratic leadership of his state, trying to equate their criminal justice reform to Trump's conviction. As if they are even remotely related

I had to go find another article to understand what was going on. Sorry.

The idea that calling trump a felon is somehow sarcasm doesn't compute. He is. I don't sarcastically call the sky blue.

Yeah no worries at all man, it was a weird press conference lol. I think once you see how he's ripping criminal justice reform it becomes a bit clearer

"All these Dems are letting people out of jail for shoplifting! Well, might as well put a felon in the Oval!"

It's just disingenuous bullshit from the Right, nothing new

Like... I would totally go to Trump loving folks and be like, "you got me. I'm on team Trump now. Before he was a felon, I couldn't stand him, but now he has experienced the abuses of the criminal justice system that is a daily fact of life for so many, particularly black people, and I think we should have a president who understands their plight."

Now, that would be deadpan sarcasm, but I'd say that. Which is what I really thought the article was saying. I read it multiple times trying to understand what was going on.

Haha yeah I live in a city that’s majority black and some of my friends at the local dive bar are actually saying stuff like that. I just keep my mouth shut because I know they’re in the minority with that opinion but it still blows my mind
