Well if you zoom in, it moves a lot. But at this rendering’s scale, not so much.

Takes about 250 million years for our Sun to orbit the galaxy.

Yeah something like that. I didn’t look at the image’s resolution, but it’ll take 125 million years or so, to get to the opposite side of the galaxy.

I was about to say I think it's 250 million years for a full orbit, but then I did basic maths and realised 125 million for half an orbit obviously checks out.

Kinda weird to think that the last time we were here in our orbit, the dinosaurs were first appearing.
