This osprey had just brought a fish to its young in their nest on top of this man-made osprey platform.

How the hell are those babies going to try and fly from that height?
More time to spread the wings if it's higher up
Either they just go for it or one of the parents provides a loving shove. In either case, the terminal velocity of a fledgling osprey probably isn't too fast and the swamp below isn't too hard.
