From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Linux is a family of open source Unix-like operating systems based on the Linux kernel, an operating system kernel first released on September 17, 1991 by Linus Torvalds. Linux is typically packaged in a Linux distribution (or distro for short).
Distributions include the Linux kernel and supporting system software and libraries, many of which are provided by the GNU Project. Many Linux distributions use the word "Linux" in their name, but the Free Software Foundation uses the name GNU/Linux to emphasize the importance of GNU software, causing some controversy.

Can I ask what it adds onto base debian?
It doesn't have systemd, that seem to be important for some people
Oh baby, come to mama! You have my full attention.
The Xfce setup looks nice out of the box.
From what i've read it seems to be easier to install than Debian (never tried myself) and it has a lot of nice tools to maintain your system.
There are ISO of debian with calamares installer available on debian website. The real difficulty is to find them.
Debian is really easy to install now. It used to be much harder back in the day.
