He doesn’t voice Bob. I know you were wondering.

I thought he was pretty good as the cop on The Sarah Silverman Program, too bad he's an insurrectionist.

Finally! A Lemming of culture who remembers The Sarah Silverman Program. lol

Cop: Do you know why I'm standing here?

Sarah: Because you got all C's in high school?

[-] ptz@dubvee.org 15 points 2 years ago

Yes! Quite possibly the greatest line ever uttered on televison.

[-] samus12345@lemmy.world 4 points 2 years ago

No way, if he got all C's he'd be overqualified.

[-] Alue42@fedia.io 10 points 2 years ago

Wasn't he also a cop in arrested development?

I loved him on Mr. Show and was always glad to see him pop up in little roles, but there is a good reason he was typecast.

Hey, since this is the Sarah Silverman Show appreciation comment chain…

Can anyone tell me where to get a Tab Cola track suit? I want one for real so much.

[-] dalekcaan@lemm.ee 30 points 2 years ago

In case anyone's curious, he voiced Bob's rival Jimmy Pesto. He's since been recast and they did a great job. I wouldn't notice the difference if I weren't looking for it.

[-] Lost_My_Mind@lemmy.world 7 points 2 years ago

Which season was his last? And which season is the first I can hear the new actor? I want to compare.

From what I can tell from a quick look on the wiki, Johnston was fired after season 11, his last episode being season 11 episode 19, "Bridge Over Troubled Rudy," after which the character was absent for several seasons, then recast as Eric Bauza in season 14 (which I believe is the most recent season at the moment), in particular season 14 episode 5, "Bully-ieve It or Not."

(edit: added specific episodes)

Shows how much I've been watching the show, despite liking it.

I had no idea Jimmy Pesto was absent. Did his kids disappear? Two of the kids were played by sarah silverman. And jimmy jr is voiced by H J Benjamin, who also voices Bob.

So I assume neither of them is going anywhere.

[-] dalekcaan@lemm.ee 6 points 2 years ago

Nah, his kids have been around. It wasn't a very conspicuous absence, he just hasn't come up for a while. It's easy to miss if you didn't realize the VA had been fired.
