There's a new one suddenly popping up in my feed but obviously the reports are being "resolved" by the mods of that community. They suggested to me that I block their community but I will not because that is how you get a cesspit of an instance. How do we report disinformation communities straight to the admins?

Edit: the admins did remove the community in question so I'm going to take that as the official stance on disinformation communities and also assume that any type of community (right wing, left wing, or other) that are intentionally spreading disinformation will be removed. That makes me feel much better about the situation since this type of thing is pretty much guaranteed to pop up again.

I’d say defining disinformation and discussing how we decide something is disinformation are some great step towards finding a solution

I think disinformation is an opinion specifically towards the content or subject of a post or community. I don’t think we shouldn’t be removing users based solely on someone’s opinion of their content. If you’re suggesting removing users from this instance that share disinformation, I’d love to know how you conclude something is disinformation

I don't think I've suggested anything. More of an observance of how things are

Ok, this thread was about blocking/removing disinformation so I figured that’s what we were talking about. Do you have any stance on disinformation and how it should be handled on lemm.ee then?

It is harmful and letting it be is not a good idea

Do you think we should remove communities and users that share disinformation?

Removing users would drive them deeper into their echo chambers Removing communities might be one way to reduce echo chamber mentality and harm Disinformation content should be removed but that's an endless fools errand

Alternative possibilities?
