Well maybe you shouldn't pick up cats you don't know if they don't want that
The problem is I tend to shift around a lot, and cats hate that. So i try to “nip it in the bud” to make sure to avoid the situation altogether, but sometimes they sneak up on me while watching a movie or something.
I always assume people that don't like cats also struggle with respecting boundaries.
