i mean to what degree does it even affect your liver from taking one pill when you occasionally get a headache?

like it cant be worse than one beer, right

Ibuprofen crew checking in.

Those of us with minor, chronic pain would like to keep what's left of our stomach linings.

Naproxen, ibuprofen, arthrotec, pregabalin, etc. Used to be daily, multiple times. And tecta to protect my stomach from bleeding out my nose. Still in fuckloads of pain - always.

But by stopping the frequency i have found it helps with the tolerance. I've also lost maybe 75 lbs over 5-ish years which also helps.

My doc knows I have issues with other drugs and I'm hesitant to take anything more potent for pain.

I want the pain to end but I don't want the remedy to destroy the rest of me.

huh? how does one pill of ibuprofen do that? or is it taking it like every day or a drug interaction

[-] Wogi@lemmy.world 1 points 1 month ago

Taking it every day wears away your stomach and intestinal lining and you could get ulcers. Also generally it's not just one, it's 3-4. Sometimes multiple times a day.

yeah i mean if you have significant issues with migraines you prob shouldnt be taking it every day but rather finding a more permanent solution, also is that only ibuprofen? what about acetaminophen or nsaids

My aunt actually had this happen went brain dead from the loss of blood when a huge ulcer popped. She was in the hospital for a lung biopsy when it happened it was pretty terrible and it was later concluded ibuprofen was the most likely cause.
