"If buying isn't owning, piracy isn't stealing" (I heard this in a Stephanie Sterling video, but they most likely didn't coin it)
Piracy is just more convenient too, no checking which of the ten different streaming services has Slop X, only to find out none of them do and piracy is the only option anyway
I argue for piracy because these companies will not pay their artists a living wage and nearly all of the profit goes to gatekeepers and industry execs.
I would happily pay for every single work I read if I knew that the artist behind it was not a week from going homeless.
"If you pirate those works I can't pay them" yeah you don't pay them even when I buy it so stfu.
