Read that fourth link and its links.

Did you read it?

"Clearly, the tens of billions of dollars the Gates Foundation has given away have helped people at times and, yes, saved lives"

The article can be summarized as, " Why hasn't he done more?"

From the article:

"Instead of celebrating the million-dollar gifts his foundation donates, why aren’t we interrogating the $184 billion that Gates isn’t giving away? "

So, "He's saved lives, but why hasn't he done more?" Isn't the big scandal you think it is.

And yeah his COVID ip take was bad and he backed off.

I did read it! That’s why I linked it. I think the author’s opinion is a very bad one, just like yours. You have one fucking rich white dude making global policy. As the author calls out, that’s oligarchy. Unlike the author, I don’t ever think that’s a good thing.

Here are the links you missed:

The other links really just talk about how Gates makes money while saying his goal is to make the world a better place. You and the author think that’s tolerable; I don’t. If you’ll notice, I called out the problem is one rich white dude controlling global power, the article says that’s bad, and you agreed with the ‘Rona take so I’m not sure why we’re focused on the tepid idea that he could do more. His philanthropy exists to make him more money; if it didn’t he’d back the fuck off and actually spend more money. Doerr’s analysis of the Gates Foundation is equally bad.
