(the detail is that he's talking about how she self-identifies rather than her appearance itself, but that would ruin a perfectly good nottheonion moment)

I was looking at the longer quote of what he said, and he didn't explain in detail that he was actually talking about self-identification. In point of fact, that would be the only reasonable way to interpret his words, but many of his followers are not reasonable, and he is often not reasonable. So we also need to include the interpretation that he's accusing her of lying about her background, and also the interpretation that various non-white skin colors all look the same to Donny's kind of people, and it's tedious trying to distinguish them precisely.
