PipeWire 0.3.77 (2023-08-04)

This is a quick bugfix release that is API and ABI compatible with previous 0.3.x releases.

Highlights

  • Fix a bug in ALSA source where the available number of samples was miscaluclated and resulted in xruns in some cases.
  • A new L permission was added to make it possible to force a link between nodes even when the nodes can't see each other.
  • The VBAN module now supports midi send and receive as well.
  • Many cleanups and small fixes.

Have it your way dude, I ditched PulseAudio for PipeWire over two years ago (see my post at https://www.reddit.com/r/linux_gaming/comments/kufrmu/pipewire_audio_is_so_good_now/) and never looked back. But I strongly believe that PulseAudio, despite its flaws, was an overall gain for Linux audio and I dislike people bashing the work of others.

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Linux is a family of open source Unix-like operating systems based on the Linux kernel, an operating system kernel first released on September 17, 1991 by Linus Torvalds. Linux is typically packaged in a Linux distribution (or distro for short).

Distributions include the Linux kernel and supporting system software and libraries, many of which are provided by the GNU Project. Many Linux distributions use the word "Linux" in their name, but the Free Software Foundation uses the name GNU/Linux to emphasize the importance of GNU software, causing some controversy.
