my guess is that it's useful to distinguish between wanting the Wikipedia page for the concept of "restaurant" or restaurants actually near you
Oh I guess that makes sense.
I only ever search for things like that on maps.
Who the hell is searching for Wikipedia on Google Maps? Or for a restaurant on normal Google?
I'll do the latter, kind of. Search using the bar at the top of my browser, then switch to the maps tab.
I thought they'd removed the maps tab as a de- monopolising move or something. Or is it only in Europe?
Right at the top for me.
What? Type in food near me in Google, and you get a list of restaurants with an overview of info on each.
