Three weeks into her presidential run was the first time the Biden campaign’s pollsters — now hers — held a deep-dive call with Kamala Harris’ inner circle to discuss what she’s been saying on the stump.

Over the line came a lot of praise, but also some suggested tweaks. First, said veteran Democratic numbers man Geoff Garin, summarizing their analysis, stop saying, “We’re not going back.” It wasn’t focused enough on the future, he argued. Second, lay off all the “weird” talk — too negative.

Yes, stop using the two approaches that has been most effective. Absolute genius. I can't for the life of me see why the Dems have a reputation of shooting themselves in the foot.

EDIT: Thankfully Kamala trusted her instincts and has had the good sense to ignore said advice so far

Why does anyone from the 2016 campaign still have a job?

Edit: Also, OP should not have cut out the next lines in the article, saying Harris' advisors declined to take his advice, and Harris reaffirmed that when she was briefed on the call.

I was going to say. Before I even saw who that quote was from, I thought, "boy, this sure sounds like a quote from a Clinton Strategist"

Lo and behold...

More antiquated third-way bullshit.

I also heard the same fucking shit from David Brooks on the PBS panel yesterday. That guy needs to get his head out of his ass, for he's still catching up as to the how and why Trump hijacked his own party and why his milquetoast both sideism led to Trump in the first place. I really wish PBS would find a better pundit.

I was just commenting on the inanity of the advice and how divorced from reality it is. I assume people read the linked article and not just the OP text box.
