It's just like charging someone with being an accomplice to a crime IMO
Not wearing a seatbelt is a traffic violation and not a crime.
Being pedantic doesn't refute my comparison, that's how comparisons work
It's a wrong comparison because you're implying a traffic violation is a criminal offense, but it's not. A traffic violation is a civil infraction. You can't put them under the same umbrella without making it sound dystopian.
