Labor Day was desolate because the studios own the streaming channels. They believe they make more money by rushing movies out of the theater or releasing them straight to streaming. They’ve pretty much killed the theater model.

That relationship needs to be severed. Be a studio, or be a channel. Not both. Instead it looks like the feds are letting studios buy up theater chains, so things are only going to get worse.

or maybe the studios are starving the theatres so they acquire them for cheap.
