Fun fact, these are dangerous to eat not because they are toxic but because they pose a choking hazard.
Also, they suck all the water out of your body and you turn into a pile of dust. It happened to my brother.

The beads also fit perfectly into a 3.5 mm headphone jack and need to be pulverized to be removed.
What an unfortunate thing to learn is possible. Apple really did us a favor to prevent this from happening.
