I can handle DDMMYY[YY] it reads correctly. But YYYYMMDD is numerically correct, most signifcant to least significant digitwise.
That thing only American's do, is completely non-sensical.
It is sensical for one use:
"So when is the event?" "May 20th, 2024"
It's such a niche use, though
Americans always put the month first. E.g. July 4th.
Except when we don't, like 4th of July...
