You're actively getting in the way of stopping a genocide. Of course people are angry at you.
Lol yeah Russian puppetry sure is anti genocide
Every vote for Harris is stealing a vote from third-party candidates who represent real change. By sidelining those voices, you’re indirectly helping Trump win!
How does voting for the Democratic candidate helping Trump win? That makes no sense.
Because that's how election math works; a vote for Harris is taking a vote away from a third-party candidate and is giving it to Trump. So people who vote for Harris are really trying to help Trump win.
That's the Lemmy logic that gets thrown at me all day every day, so I'm a believer now. You did it Lemmy!
That math would only work if Harris was lower in the polls. If she had less of a chance to win.
She is tied for first place. So your math is backwards. A vote for a third party is taking votes from Harris.
I stand by what I said.
You are going for a degree in education, and you can’t understand how if Harris is higher in the polls, that a vote for somebody else is taking a vote away from her? You plan to teach individuals but can’t understand how if person is higher in the polls that if you vote for somebody who is lower in the polls, you’re taking votes from the person higher in the polls?
I mean technically a vote for anybody else is taking a vote away from somebody else, But I would be willing to bet that the vast majority of people would not see it your way.
You seem to be implying some light mockery of my degree, yet it seems you missed the nuance of my comment, which was actually turning the same logic people use against third-party voters back on them.
The point is to show how absurd it sounds when you reverse the argument. You say voting for anyone else is taking votes from Harris, but by that logic, wouldn’t voting for Harris be stealing votes from candidates who represent real change?
I understand how polls work, but I also understand that we’re allowed to vote based on who we actually believe in, not just who’s leading in the polls. It’s the classic "vote for the lesser of two evils" mentality, and I’m challenging that by showing how it leads to more of the same.
Better?
I ran an experiment: I only posted the facts without the reasoning. They're not stupid. They reasoned it out quickly. But, the conclusions disturbed their comfort. It's comfort they value most. Truth and justice be damned.
If you find one engaging IRL then investment there is a much, much better ROI for our future. All we can do here, in this format, is sow the seeds of doubt.
Oh, I thought you were debating in good faith. My bad.
Yeah, they've never done anything in good faith. They're allergic to it. Their main goal in life is to be an infuriating contrarian that everyone despises.
That does seem to be the case. Nobody can be that stupid. Just a troll doing troll stuff.
Yep. A shitbird through and through.
But I do believe that. And I am voting third party. So it is in good faith.
Awfully funny for you to be almost ten comments deep in a thread on a post from someone you blocked and that was posted days ago. You following me around with one of your alts just to post your new spam about Dems stealing votes from Stein?
Damn, that’s just pathetic.
Yeah they did this to me too. Unblocked me and annoyed me a bit then re blocked me
I don't have any alts. Thanks!
So 1) that doesn’t explain why you are spamming your sad little copypasta so deep in a thread you weren’t in; and 2) how you ended up on discussion of a three day old post of someone you blocked. Having to meet quotas must be hard, but I’m sure copying and pasting the exact same comment across multiple threads must really help with that. Hmm, or are you just keyword searching and posting your nonsense replies to random comments with a total lack of interest in good faith discussions?
And did you unblock me because you needed the attention? Wow, it just keeps getting worse.
Thanks!
I don't have to explain anything to you. Thank you!
So you can just stop there then.
Ok, thanks! Oh wait, other people haven't stopped yet, so I guess I can't either.
No, that’s true, you don’t. But it’s such odd behavior, don’t you think? I know you just started using Lemmy a bit more than a month ago, but your posting patterns and volume are unique. One might even say unprecedented - for someone behaving normally. Naturally it then occurs to other people to ask about the unnatural behavior and what motivates it.
Care to provide any clarity? Let’s just focus on why you’re copy/pasting spam responses deep in threads you haven’t participated in. You’re either obsessively reading thousands of threads you have no direct involvement in looking for opportunities for your sad copypasta or you’re using the search feature to accomplish those same things.
Surely you have reasons for such aberrant praxis?
Dude! Yes! I'm unprecedented! That's awesome! I like that, friend.
You're responding to plenty my posts, so aren't you doing the same "unprecedented" thing? Feel free to take a break from Lemmy if you feel you are on too much.
Look, I can post as much as I want whenever I want. I’m semi-retired, have a pension, and plenty of free time, so I’ll spend it however I choose. My life is awesome and I'm having an amazing time so far. I don’t owe you or anyone an explanation.
If you don’t like my posts, just block me, but I’m not stopping from sharing what I find interesting. I don't care if you think it's odd, or wrong, or whatever. Free country, friend.
Bravo for the almost totally normal response! Lots of work to do, but maybe with more practice you can start sounding like something other than a weirdo. And only part of it seemed copied and pasted!
And only responded to this one because it was on a post I made. Strange that you still haven’t described how you got here. Was it the obsessive/compulsive thing or the using search to insert yourself in conversations that didn’t involve you?
So damn weird
Dude, let's be real. I annoy you.
No matter what I post, you’re always gonna be right there with some remark about copy-paste or calling it obsessive, blah blah blah.
You don't like me, and your bias is loud and clear. No answer I give will ever satisfy you because it’s not even about what I’m posting—it’s about the fact that I’m here, unapologetically doing my thing.
And that’s fine. I’m not going anywhere. You can keep getting annoyed or just move on. It’s your choice, just like it’s my choice to post what I want and vote for whoever I believe in. You can’t silence people just because they make you uncomfortable.
I'm still here and I'm gonna say here. :)
Oh, you’re not important enough to even annoy me. It’s not like I’ve missed our interactions while you were “blocking” me.
But again, when you see someone acting so bizarrely, you do want to get some sort of an explanation for their obviously ostracizing and counterproductive behavior. Something honest. Something real. But you can’t do honest and real can you?
It’s so sad really. There’s no coordinated campaign against you despite your obvious martyr complex and complaints to the contrary. No one cares per se that you’re here. Your posts and comments are a sometimes unavoidable inconvenience - like accidentally stepping in dog shit on a public sidewalk. You don’t like it, you have to clean it up, but mostly you’re just wondering what kind of person leaves this shit lying around?
You mean like posting articles that I'm interested in, right?
Really? Because this poster just said I "endure near universal hate all the time." https://lemmy.world/comment/12438004
Was he right or are you right?
And hey, if you block me, then you don't have to see my comments or my posts. :)
But you yourself have claimed you aren’t personally invested in a bunch of the articles you posted but thought others might be - usually whenever anyone calls you out. And posting robotically about the same subjects again and again in spaces where they are obviously not well received is weird. Diving deep into discussion threads you haven’t been taking part in to post spammy copypasta is bizarre. 1200 Posts and 2300 comments in less than 45 days is disturbing behavior. Sealioning so hard by calling everyone “friend” and not honestly engaging in discussions is not normal.
And please tell me you can tell the difference between “coordinated campaign against you” and enduring “universal hate”. It’s really not hard to see they’re not the same thing. If you’re pissing off most people every day, maybe most people aren’t the problem?
So, are you suggesting we should only post articles that everyone agrees with? You’re basically asking for an echo chamber, right? Personally, I prefer diversity in political opinions, but it sounds like you’d rather stick to just one side. Oh well.
I’m not required to explain anything to you. I post what I want, where I want, and when I want—there’s no rule against it on Lemmy. If you don’t like it, you’re welcome to block me. Simple as that, friend. :)
Once again you put words in someone else’s mouth. Try reading what I wrote again and tell me where I said anything you just said I said.
And there’s no rule against me constructively and respectfully calling out bullshit. It really is so odd that you act so obviously fragile that you can’t engage in any real or honest discussion, and instead fall back on copy pastes from other responses, what would appear to be walls of text written by an LLM, and/or the tried and true “nuh-uh! You are!”
If you find my critiques to be distasteful, you are of course free to block me again. It might be for the best considering how you react to essentially every bit of online interaction.
I'm under no obligation to explain anything to you, friend. Thank you!
Yay!! See there? Then no reason to worry about my posts. And no need to worry about the fact that I'll keep posting. Thank you!
Who said I was worried? You keep putting words into other people’s mouths. Or intentionally being obtuse. It’s almost like you’re repeatedly not engaging in good-faith and with respect.
Oh ok, so then you're fine with me posting what I want to, when I want to, and as many times as I want to. And you're fine with me voting for whoever I want to.
See? We are friends. Glad to hear it!
I never said I wasn’t fine with it. What I asked was about your motivation for doing so. You know, in the spirit of engaging in good faith, as the rules outline. Because you often receive feedback that your posting and commenting certainly don’t appear to be in good faith. It’s almost like anyone who sees your username more than a couple times immediately clocks that you are not acting in a genuine manner. A bit like the “uncanny valley”. A bit abnormal.
I’m not obligated to explain myself to you. If people don’t want to read my posts, they can simply ignore or block me. Thanks!
Or they can respond to you and tell you what they think! Why are you trying to quiet voices you don’t agree with?
Sure, and plenty of people respond and tell me what they think. And it's up to me if I want to reply or not. See how that works?
I've never said they couldn't. In fact, in my own community plenty of people hate me and call me names. And I leave their posts up. Feel free to take a look for yourself.
Doesn't really fit the narrative you are trying to create tho, huh?
And any time anyone says something you immediately cry and whine about how they’re trying to oppress you.
And yet you never honestly engage with anyone.
I have no narrative, just observations that anyone can make when viewing your strange and disingenuous behavior.
We're still friends though, right?
So needy, aren’t you? Or just completely disingenuous and looking to make others uncomfortable.
But no, as I’ve stated before, you don’t make me feel anything.
Well, I think we're friends. So yay!
I’d agree with you, but then we’d both be wrong
Close enough, friend! :)
