Thankfully in Linux land the evil corporation is Canonical, who aren't really even all that evil, more like a Team Rocket (anime version) style nuisance.

Red Hat has been doing some shady shit to its downstream projects since being acquired by IBM.

Its more shady like business decisions regarding red hat enterprise linux and its downstream forks, not privacy/security problems. Fedora workstation isn't really affected.
