And the shit bag that's doing it (DDoS and backdooring) is under the false presumption that the Internet archive is affiliated with the US government.
I'm always surprised with all the pretty evil shit actually happening (with pretty obvious signs pointing to certain companies) that some idiots that want to attack said "evil" miss them all and go for actual good causes using the most flimsiest excuses.
Could be. I wouldn't be so certain it's not since they wouldn't advertise that if it was true.
That's called the Argument from Silence, and it's a fallacy. Basically, "Why aren't they saying they're not part of the government. It must therefore follow that they are!"
Good thing nobody said it must be that way. However, it's important to realize that the world has, in fact, secrets.
