Screen readers generally cannot read pictures of text, not providing a transcript is an accessibility issue
While that's true (and an entirely different conversation altogether), their comment did not exactly come across as good faith, but as a response to the OP calling out Israeli propaganda. (The "you're ruining the internet" part pretty much gave it away) I've already been getting multiple reports from salty libs regarding this post.
That makes sense, would it be possible to bring up to the mod team a potential rule for providing a transcript of text screenshots?

Sure, I'll bring it up to them. Improving accessibility is always a good thing.
Oh my, I didn't even think of this! I was like, "it's a screenshot from twitter, which I can no longer access without an account, so please don't link me to twitter, please keep doing the screenshot".
But you're right, there should be a transcription along with the screenshot, so people who use screen readers can also participate.
