Frustration over the cost-of-living crisis has led to several mass protests in recent months. In August, at least 20 people were shot dead and hundreds more were arrested at a protest demanding better opportunities and jobs for young people.

You're thinking about water. you've got maybe 3 days without water. You can survive a hell of a long time without food depending on your bodies fat stores and eventually muscle.

I’m definitely not thinking about water but nice randoming shoehorning of that fact, I guess.

It does beg the question as to why, or how the kids are getting access to water but not food.
