Imagine the horrible communist dystopia of a really nosy landlord, something that can only happen in a Totalitarian Authoritarian country!

On the bright side it's going free 3 weeks after release so it must not be all that successful

There are games that legitimately are released for free day one on EGS, Cygni: All Guns Blazing was one a while ago.
