Never got why people didn't like it. It made SMS feel unduly secure, and having different messenger apps for different protocols doesn't really bother me.

For me at least it was easy to look at the icon, but it's hard to remember which protocols everyone is using. I can pay the search cost or I can just default to SMS.

I wish there was a compatible fork that worked the old way.
