This is straight-up nostalgia for me. Everything from the buttons, the font, fine details of the case design... I swear I owned this exact CD player in my childhood. Or at the very least, this was designed using some retro '80s tech as heavy inspiration.
EDIT: I just looked up the model number and this was actually a thing in my childhood. Almost as old as I am, releasing in April 1986. It was probably my first CD player; a hand-me-down from my dad who was a tech enthusiast.
