Yeah, the next test is how he responds to all the Americans begging him for a carve-out at the very least. He could tell them to pound sand, or completely reverse course. Both seem about as likely.

The stock markets seem to think so, anyway.
On the one hand, big investors have ears in Washington I don't. On the other, they're the exact kind of educated, well-to-do people who suddenly have no imagination when it comes to history happening again.
