Reading statements like these from politicians in the more generally anti-imperialist countries really just exposes how much of a sheer waste of time US (and western) "politics" is. Absolutely no fucking substance, even from the better orators, compared to something like this, which is clear, concise, sharp, and thought-provoking. The difference is just mind-boggling sometimes.

Anyone seen any of the accusations of American swimmers in the Olympics doping, citing their strangely purple faces after the race? I've seen one twitter thread, and now this from Wave Media. The swimmers DO look pretty weird, I gotta say... But I know nothing on this, so thonk
(I'm sure nearly all athletes of this caliber DO use PEDs, at least in the off-season, but I don't know enough to dispute this specific allegation).

Didn't see anyone else post this, but there have been major student-led protests in Bangladesh in recent days. Many student protestors have died, and I've seen reports of state police kidnapping people. The protests stem largely from an employment quota system for veterans of the war with Pakistan and their children (and children's children), and not enough jobs for them all. The state has asked universities to close. Students are aiming for a "complete shutdown" of the country, save for emergency services.

Nothing has solidified the role of propaganda in my mind as "licensing" more than that moment. It was so utterly obviously Israel if you thought about it at all, and yet we spent over a week (maybe more????) "debating" whether it was a stray Hamas rocket. Give me a fuckin break. People chose to believe what they wanted to.

China's electric vehicle company BYD has announced they've developed a new hybrid drive train that promises to deliver a 2,000km (1,250 mile) range on a full tank and a full charge. And one of the new sedans they're putting it in will retail for less than $14k.

Catch me in parking lots at 2:30am doing burnouts in my Chinese car for hours on end. Or don't because amerikkka

Being part of NATO is not an aggressive pact. It is only enacted if another member is attacked.

Yugoslavia and Libya would probably beg to differ.
