Nah. Only 50F to 115f is usable. What kind of weird ass datapoints are those? I mean 10C to 45C are just as random, but at least it aligns with something practical. At least I understand that 200C is twice what it takes to boil water. I have no idea how hot 400F is supposed to be.

Lemmy is full of plenty of people who hate me for being trans and disabled. And way too many self-identified leftists who think I'm being trans and disabled the wrong way and am therefore a right wing troll.

Most of the well known Lemmy instances lean communist, even if their admins can be quite socially regressive. As such I've accumulated a reputation as being a troublemaker for the left. I want to go make trouble for the right to fix my reputation. I wanna go talk shit, stir up drama, and get banned. I want the modlogs to say a bunch of open bigots hate me instead of the closet bigots who hate me now. I wanna ruin some nazis' days and call them shitheads. Where do I go on the Fediverse to go make trouble for the open reactionaries?

Wearing the US flag as an article of clothing is considered desecration according to the army flag code. This man desecrated an American flag.

The Randi prize was a scam by the way. They wanted evidence of "supernatural powers", but they wouldn't accept my smartphone as not being natural, despite the fact that it is clearly manmade in a factory. They only accepted supernatural powers that didn't exist.

Bike lanes are car infrastructure. We cyclists are perfectly within our rights to cycle in the middle of the lane at a speed comfortable for us. And it's safer for us to do that than hug the shoulder and risk getting clipped by an impatient driver. A bike lane gets us out of your way so you can drive the speed limit. It's for your benefit.

This is a fallacy. You find one area in which the two presidents are the same, and you extrapolate that into saying they're exactly the same in all areas. It's not a bad faith attack or trolling. It's just the result of someone whose thoughts are too simple to grasp the fact that people are similar in some ways and different in other ways. It's the thought process of someone who just doesn't get nuance.

Go play Metal Gear Rising Revengeance. You get to use a ninja sword to turn fascists into human confetti. Also the final boss is a US senator who wants to make America great again.

Fun fact: Reddit is claiming it has full rights to distribute and sell any content posted to Reddit. So if you've ever posted to r/gonewild, they're claiming to have a full licence to do whatever they want with pictures of your naked body.

A tidally locked planet does not rotate in relation to its sun. One side is always day, one, always night. This is caused by tidal forces pulling all planets towards this same equilibrium, so it's completely stable once it does occur..a tidally locked planet at an earthlike distance from the sun would be scorching heat on one side, freezing ice on the other.

What about at different distances? Is there a band of orbital distance where the night side of a tidally locked planet is warm enough for liquid water? Or one far away enough that the day side can have oceans?

I've seen that story before, and it doesn't answer my question. I don't think this is an issue teachers can solve by malicious compliance doing the right thing. This is an issue that parents need to solve. Because the bill allows parents to sue (and therefore establish legal precedent), not teachers. If a teacher uses genderless language, as you say, they'll get fired. But if a parent sues a school for having the words he and she, and wins, it is now an incontrovertible part of the law that he and she are forbidden in Florida schools. This means teachers can no longer be punished for following the law, it means they have to follow the law, and this will have a much bigger impact on headlines due to its wider and firmer scope.

Why hasn't a parent done this?

Okay, so you know the Don't Say Gay bill in Florida? The one that prohibits "gender ideology" in schools?

Classroom instruction by school personnel or third parties on sexual orientation or gender identity may not occur in kindergarten through grade 3 or in a manner that is not age appropriate or developmentally appropriate for students in accordance with state standards.

The words "he" and "she" are gender identities. "Mister" and "Missus" are gender identities. It's illegal for a teacher in Florida to introduce themself as Mr or Mrs. It's illegal for a teacher in Florida to tell a student another child's pronouns, even inadvertently.

If a concern is not resolved by the school district, a parent may …. Bring an action against the school district to obtain a declaratory judgment that the school district procedure or practice violates this paragraph and seek injunctive relief. A court may award damages and shall award reasonable attorney fees and court costs to a parent who receives declaratory or injunctive relief.

As far as I can tell, this is exactly the kind of situation the Satanic Temple exists to help with. All it takes is one single parent in Florida to ask the Satanic Temple's help suing a school for using the words "he" and "she" in the classroom.

BOOM. Overnight, the headlines "DeSantis law forces school to use gender neutral pronouns" would appear. It would be the biggest scandal and loss of face for the Republican party in the eyes of their voters since ever.

Why hasn't this already been done?

I was just banned from !adhd@lemmy.dbzer0.com with the following modlog: Harassment. Do not come to random communities for your grudges, Use the rerport button when actual issues occur. I like ADHD memes, it wasn't a random community. But that aside, Lemmy is designed so that I can't follow this advice, because banned users cannot submit reports. So I am doing my best to follow the instructions as closely as possible, and submitting this post in lieu of a report. Stamets repeatedly called me a slur directed at people with NPD, which I have, off-community and defended it on dbzer0. MetaCubed also called me a slur after its status as a slur was pointed out. I ask for instance bans for both of them, because slurs directed at members of a marginalised group from outside are obviously in violation of the anarchist code of conduct. I would be submitting this as a literal report if I were able.

If we didn't need a brown stripe to represent people of colour, then there wouldn't be any racism in the queer community. The fact that some queer people are racist is why the rest of us decided to fly a flag with a more explicit message.

Also the black stripe is for victims of the AIDS crisis
