Do audits actually matter?

I commute on a 10 year old bike that cost $400 at the time.
My understanding is that contempt of court can't be pardoned. The reasoning is that a pardon forgives an action against the (nation)state. Contempt is an offense against the judiciary and is therefore out of scope for the president. But IANAL and I am not even an American so take this for what it's worth. Benjamin Wittes et al. wrote about this a fair bit over at Lawfare a couple years ago.
It does, but it's a reason to regulate the market. Otherwise there is minimal incentive to build affordable housing. The margins on luxury housing are just too fat. A developer is better letting half of a luxury setting sit empty than selling out affordable space. Same reason there is so little competition for affordable cars.

That is not the fight we are having now. Preserve the country first. And we weaken ourselves with a minority government.
When I was in grad school I mentioned to the department chair that I frequently saw a mis-citation for an important paper in the field. He laughed and said he was responsible for it. He made an error in the 1980s and people copied his citation from the bibliography. He said it was a good guide to people who cited papers without reading them.
It's really common advice to not start with the cheapest gear. Yes a lot of us learned to play on dime store guitars but would have suffered less with a quality instrument. The same is true for just about everything.
Well they got paid out for them right? Right?

I really despise this kind of both sidesism. Because the sides are demonstrably different.
