They are aware of what goes on here, so I suspect for larger threads they let some things that they can "live with" go so there isn't comment after comment with "Removed by moderator", or you just got lucky and it was missed.
We've been trying, very few of the Lemmy instances defederate from .ml even if many defederate from the rest of the Triad because of support and the devs would take it personally (which I mean, fair, given dessalines behavior that has been documented thus far I wouldn't put it past him at all to refuse to help on things for an instance that had the gall to defederate from his)
So it's either boycott or move to PieFed
It would be hilarious if it wasn't so damaging
I have seen them, completely unironically, try to use a US State department link as evidence that the Uyghur genocide wasn't happening (Even though only it's title made it seem like that, if they had actually read it it concluded that it just wasn't the "kill everyone" kind of genocide, but the "kill their culture" kind)
Hours old account
Using the same phrasing as another troll account
Nothing but a lil troll lmao Doesn't even have the cajones to troll with their main
A couple of issues, on Lemmy "block" isn't block it's barely a mute. The only way to get a true block, is to be site banned by an instance. This is likely the way dessalines wants it, because it's quite ridiculous.
And it doesn't help retain new users who might not be clued in on needing to "block" them. Scaring away new users. It will only get worse, if everyone "in the know" block them, then who will be left to downvote and show resistance to their "viewpoints"?
And it still allows misinformation "articles" to spread and fester via the network, causing harm. To users, to the rep of the Threadiverse and its growth.
The only real answer is as wide a defederation as the rest of the triad is treated
This was 2 mods that banned you across all the comms they mod, not a site-ban at least, though sitebans look like this too because of a workaround in place to ensure that a site-banned user's content is purged (or something like that)
It's possible they hit the wrong button/inputted wrong script command hence the "appeal granted" thing. I would reach out to the mod of those comms
Normally, yes. However, the Lemmy devs thrust themselves into the spotlight with their words and actions (dessalines themselves has posted Tankie content, just recently a meme about the DPRK dictatorship being "western propaganda") through their instance
If they just had alts on grad or hex that no one knew was them, or hell ran grad or hex with said, we wouldn't be here on this comm today.
Instances would just defederate them and move on, but they don't want that because it reduces their audience.
That's good! Please consider redirecting that funding to PieFed which has no moral issues (No Tankie devs) or your instance instead
PieFed Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/PieFed
The Threadiverse itself is worth supporting and can be done without a penny going to Tankies
Being a communist is fine, it's the simping for authoritarian regimes that are communists-in-name-only (CINO) and genocide denying
I'd bet a whole paycheck that if Russia was aligned with Israel instead of the US they'd be defending the Palestinian genocide instead
I don't get it, especially now that Putin refuses all cease fire agreements it's pretty clear who the aggressor is.
They operate under the belief that Ukraine is under the rule of a Nazi regime, so to them Putin might be the aggressor, but it's for the greater good
Code is code, open source is open source.
Lemmy is coded to be a link aggregator type social media, there's nothing inherently political about it.
It's the fact that they use their supposed "test instance" and their influence as the Lemmy developers to spread their "message" because they know that it's going to be difficult for other instance admins to defederate from the "Dev instance" that's the problem.
And indeed that's pretty much what's playing out, most instances defederate from the first 2 of the triad fairly easily, but when it comes to the .ml instance admins are hesitant. Even though .ml allows much of the same crap, just "tempered" under the surface.
I mean, it is if you want the cool couple backstory
"We bumped into each other at Chili's" ❌
"We were mortal enemies until our allies betrayed us on a mountain top in the wilderness and out of pure spite for our new enemies we forged a new alliance to survive and eventually found love" ✅
