It seems like the versioning on the GitHub page is getting further and further away from the releases on the Apple Store. Right now it shows version 2.0.1 in the Apple Store, but the latest release posted on the GitHub is 1.3, dated May of 2024.

Apologies in advance if I missed an announcement that explains this.

When reading longposts I often lose my place by either a) accidentally tapping the Feeds button in the corner of the screen with the heel of my palm, which scrolls to the top, or b) accidentally tapping the article body (either while actively scrolling or just holding my phone), which collapses the post.

Anyone have advice for avoiding these on longposts? Skill issue?

• Links can now be shared from your local instance or the original instance; the default is now to share from your instance. This behavior can be toggled in Settings -> Links -> Share Links.

Since today I’m getting errors refreshing my Lemmy.ml feed. Tried a bunch of things, including logging out of my account, and now I can no longer login.

When I try to login and enter the lemmy.ml domain, I get a red error text saying “Failed to connect to lemmy.ml”.

Tried uninstalling the app and reinstalling from the Apple App Store. Didn’t work. Looked for updates, didn’t seem to be one.

I can access Lemmy.ml in the browser and my account seems to be fine as wel.

I can use Mlem to visit Lemmy.world just fine. Can even refresh the feed and browse posts.

Is it just me? Or anyone else with this issue?

Are push notifications as a whole not possible because of something Lemmy related? Or is it developer related? I haven’t seen any 3rd-party apps tout push notifications.

I just noticed the newish green leaf icon by some posts. But I didn't intuit the meaning -- does it indicate the age of the account? Old dry oak leaf emoji for accounts over a decade old? 😏 Acorn emoji for accounts opened today? Might be interesting to be able to filter based on these criteria...

After a year in development and six months in beta, we are thrilled to announce that Mlem for Lemmy 2.0 is available on the App Store!

We've rewritten the app from the ground up--it's still the same Mlem our users know and love, but with significant performance improvements, a set of new features that were infeasible in our v1 app, and a fresh new design that feels right at home with the latest versions of iOS. There are more changes than we could list here, so the best way to see what's new is to just download the app, but some of the highlights include:

Media Enhancements

2.0 ships with a brand new image viewer and full support for gifs, videos, and animated webps. We've even added loops.video embedding--link posts to loops.video will display the linked video directly in Mlem.

Color Themes

In addition to the standard light and dark, Mlem 2.0 offers OLED, Solarized, and Dracula color themes, with more on the way. If you'd like us to support your favorite theme, let us know!

Markdown Handling

Powered by our custom cmark fork, Mlem 2.0 supports the full range of Lemmydown syntax.

Enhanced Post Composer

You can now create crossposts directly in the post editor (+ -> Crosspost), and can even post to multiple communities from multiple accounts at once. The keyboard now also sports a comprehensive set of Markdown editing tools.

French Localization

Mlem is now available in French, thanks to pylapp.

Is there a way to set which account is your default?

Something caused me to have to sign out of my default account yesterday and the sign back in before anything would load. Am other accounts were unaffected, and I could view everything fine from the web interface. Now that I signed out Mlem defaults to a different account when I open the app. I have tried to reorder the accounts, and every sort option but the only way have found to fix this is to log out of all accounts and then log in one by one again.

If you use any apps, frontends or bots for Lemmy, please help us out by notifying the developers about this post.

It would be helpful if we could view a list of communities from instance detail tab, not a local view of threads like when you look at an instance from a guest account, but a list like when you search.

It will make easier to reconsider some blocks as people are just not great to talk to on some days.

The time stamps could show you when you blocked them and the note label could show up right on their profile and under the user handle in the user block page.

On iOS18.2, input words inside the app, the typing sound is extremely loud and cannot be adjusted.

I was switching between accounts and when swapping to lemm.ee there was an error message, but it quickly cleared before I could tap it and see what it said. Then I switched back to Sopuli.xyz and that gave two error messages. This time I was ready for it, but tapping the first message cleared the other message.

Is there a setting existing, or that could be added so an error notice stays until dismissed? Or a Mlem Notification Center where we can view errors?

I've never been able to make up my mind on whether or not the character has its hands raised or just has prominent ears. Frankly I prefer to believe they are its hands and the character is quite pleased with its star.

Is there a canon answer?

I noticed since the update on Friday my inbox has been slow to refresh. Also it would sometimes show my read messages with my unread replies. Initially I thought maybe it has something to do with the newest lemmy update (Sopuli updated yesterday), but I switched back to last week’s build 2.0 (161) and it appears to be working fine.

Do the devs get the crash logs from beta Mlem?
