The evidence reviewed here suggests that, where poverty has declined, it was not capitalism but rather progressive social movements and public policies, arising in the mid-20th century, that freed people from deprivation.

I'm going to use this video as a reference for my own website project.

What do you all think?

It seems that Japanese and Chinese website design is just superior to Western design.

The comments are bad as usual haha

After adding operatic vocals to Gojira's rendition of "Ah! Ça Ira," a song popular during the French Revolution, she went on to sing a portion of Georges Bizet's Carmen.

From NME:

The heavy metallers performed ‘Ah, Ça Ira!’ (which translates to ‘It’ll be fine’), a song that was popular during the French revolution, during a segment titled ‘Liberté’ (in reference to France’s famed motto ‘Liberté, égalité, fraternité’) that celebrated one of the most famous events in French history, as well as the nation’s emphasis on freedom.

Gojira appeared on the side of a castle surrounded by fire and bursts of red streamers to represent blood, with Viotti later appearing on a moving prop boat. Their performance followed a portion dedicated to Les Miserables and came just after a beheaded Marie Antoinette was shown singing.

Traditional lyrics translated at wikipedia (linked above) Gojira's lyrics translated via redditors:

"Oh. It'll be okay, be okay, be okay,
Hang the aristocrats from on high!
Oh. It'll be okay, be okay, be okay,
The aristocrats, we'll hang 'em all.
Despotism will breathe its last,
Liberty will take the day,
Oh. It'll be okay, be okay, be okay,
We don't have any more nobles or priests,
Oh. It'll be okay, be okay, be okay,
Equality will reign everywhere,
The Austrian slave will follow him,
To the Devil will they fly.
Oh. It'll be okay, be okay, be okay,
To the Devil will they fly."

The fact that people and businesses are willing to pay for extra storage indicates a lack of adequate space in homes and offices, a consequence of maximizing urban density without giving consideration to living conditions in urban planning.

The article also mentions the "side-hustle" culture, where people use storage units for their secondary businesses. While it's spun as being empowering, in practice it reflects the precarity of employment under capitalism, where people need multiple jobs to make ends meet.

Finally, conversion of vacant commercial spaces into storage facilities shows how capitalism prioritizes profit over community needs. Instead of repurposing these spaces for affordable housing or community centers, they are used for storage.

The issue, rather, is what picture of “political violence” this messaging serves: To say that “political violence” has “no place” in a society organized by political violence at home and abroad is to acquiesce to the normalization of that violence, so long as it is state and capitalist monopolized.

As author Ben Ehrenreich noted on X, “There is no place for political violence against rich, white men. It is antithetical to everything America stands for.”

For people who don't know who this is, she's famous for the video called "ok boomer" or for her "socialist" takes like supporting sanders in 2020. Since she started to live a multimillion-dollar lifestyle like sanders im kinda frustrated because she give a bad image of socialism believers as the "ones who switch sides when they have success".
