I don't think this is a reasonable comparison between X and Bluesky. i also believe it's fomenting strife where it doesn't exist. Finally using AI to generate memes removes any possible value a meme can have, and that is a critical thought produced by a human using an entertaining image. AI destroys all of that.

Don't use AI.

Universal Paperclip (free at above url) Start by making paperclips, end up as a sentient AI sending Von Neuman probes out into the universe looking for more materials to create paperclip factories until you have converted the entire universe to paperclips.

Universal Paperclips is a game I just finished. Can be completed in an afternoon and it has some interesting mechanics you can engage with, there isn't a ton of "skill," as is typical for idle games, but if you do some thinking you can make more optimal decisions which will allow you to advance quicker.

One of the most important aspects of a game to me, is that it needs to end. Because of the nature of math, you can always bolt additional mechanics on to them to make the number higher, or increase the scope etc. Additionally the quintessential idle game starts with the player doing something, usually clicking. This is fine, but a good game should have the clicking portion be replaced pretty quickly with a different mechanic that is much more efficient then clicking, because clicking sucks.

Other (free) idle games I'm aware of.

Some other goods ones that you need to pay for are Magic Research, and the even better sequel Magic Research 2.

I can't believe the NYC Mayor Elect hasn't single-handedly dueled all 40,000 NYPD officers in honorable mortal combat. Some leftist he is.

The idea of "student loan forgiveness for entrepreneurs" is something I noticed 10 years ago during Hillary Clinton's uninspired campaign for president, even before Trump entered the arena as a serious candidate.

Looking at a few search-engine hits filtered for only 2015, and I see the following article. There are a few other derivative articles with same idea.

https://www.nbcnews.com/better/careers/helping-millennial-entrepreneurs-conquer-student-loan-debt-n408636

But basically the idea of this group of young "entrepreneurs" who were saddled by student loans deserved special government attention. Especially from the Clinton campaign.

Kind of weird, but they had a campaign full of weird shit, like Russian Drone submarines, or a no-fly zone over Syria, or the declaration that universal health-care "will never ever happen."

But then 4 years later after Clinton was humiliated, we have her heir-apparent Kamala Harris talking about the same oddly specific policy: "According to her plan, Harris intends to give student loan debt forgiveness to Pell grant recipients who successfully open businesses in underserved communities and operate those businesses for three years."

https://psmag.com/news/kamala-harris-student-debt-forgiveness-plan-part-of-proposal-to-support-black-entrepreneurs/

And now it's 4 years later, and we have a very old representative of New York City, Nydia Velázquez introducing the same policy!

https://democrats-smallbusiness.house.gov/news/documentsingle.aspx?DocumentID=4769

Who the fuck is pushing this policy? Who is it for? Why are Democratic Politicians so fixated on this fucking worthless extremely narrowly targeted policy? It's been 10 years, and this policy keeps coming back almost as a slogan. Why?!

Garbage Island full of garbage people thinks cars prevent sexual assaults.

This is only a problem if you think the purpose of the pier was to provide aid to Gaza. If you understand that everything the US military does is simply to provide public money to private interests, then this is a completely unremarkable event.

Sounds like the problem here is the "government scrutiny" not steam.

The topography explains it all. https://geology.com/articles/east-africa-rift.shtml

tl;dr The people of that area in East Africa naturally live close to sea level, however there are easily accessible elevations changes that distance runners have trained on for probably centuries. It turns out that training at high altitudes and recovering at low altitudes provides a tangible and demonstrable advantage compared to just single elevation training.

I doubt the US is trying to overthrow Netanyahu, but if they were, I'm glad of it.

What a garbage article. Elon sucks, the cyber truck sucks, but an article about tweets is less than worthless. Perhaps the article instead of assuming elon just "didn't have time to run tesla properly", should dig a bit deeper and demonstrate that tesla was successful despite elon, not because of elon. Same with Space-X or Star-link.

Now as far as why the cyber truck is getting stuck in snow, tires is the low-effort answer, but maybe look at the weight of the truck versus the contact area. Maybe look at how the traction control system works? How about whether the car is front wheel bias vs rear-wheel biased. Does it make assumptions about which wheels have contact to the ground? Does it have a differential or are all 4 wheels independently controlled? (I don't know the answer to any of these by the way, but if I were concerned about a vehicle getting stuck in the snow, I'd certainly want an analysis that addresses all of the above.)

A pretty standard pro-environmental piece, however I do appreciate how it calls out the "German Green Party," which is obviously just an astro-turfed political party funded by the coal industry.

And of course the criticism of about the farce of Carbon Capture is spot-on.

A growing number of Senate Democrats appear open to making it harder for migrants to seek asylum in order to secure Republican support for aiding Ukraine and Israel.

This is what the democrats stand for. Unlimited funding for the MIC and border-control, but social issues are not a priority.

Stop voting for the parties of Capital.

Good. Only ~215 countries to go. No one should have normal interactions with Israel or anyone who supports Israel.

Perhaps if Europe claims to care about human rights so much, they should simply stop funding, supporting or otherwise enabling a genocidal state?

It's just too expensive to save the planet. I'm glad that our governments were making the tough Choices, to continue burning coal and other fossil fuels because the economy just couldn't handle the burden of not growing by another 5% every year.

CO2 "offsets" have always been bullshit green washing. The only way to regulate emissions is by directly regulating emissions. Not coming up with elaborate loopholes.

This is a bad chart with lots of data issues. It apparently consists of two points, 1995 and 2017. The source is some data aggregator that isn't clear, and of course the differentiation between the categories is non-existent. what is the difference between "church," "friends," or "neighbors?" What is the difference between "school" and "college."

That said obviously there are more "online" couples between 1995 where the only options were AOL or IRC chatrooms and 2017 where actual dating apps existed that were easily accessible via your phone.

My Take: I agree the internet has changed society in the past 22 years. Thanks shitty chart from reddit. I now have a greater awareness of the significance of the internet.
