LOL. For what it's worth I recommended to HR that they get moved to the next pay step.

Hi Lemmy,

Apologies if this is a dumb question.

I have a trans person that I supervise and I know he is having a hard time after Trump's only two genders executive order.

Is there anything I can do to make sure that he feels supported at work?

I have regular check-in meetings with my staff so I was hoping to see how he was doing, but don't want to force him into an uncomfortable discussion.

Note: His performance is still excellent at his job so this isn't a "coaching conversation" or anything like that

Besides physical violence, the most absurd thing I've seen was a man who bought a car after his wife pleaded not to because it would bankrupt them. He didn't like that she was "telling him what to do." They had two perfectly fine vehicles btw.

From what I looked up it means something like dude or mate. It's also used when expressing suprise? If native speaker has better insight I'd appreciate it.

Losing gives you a chance to practice being happy for someone else. Remember board games especially are an excuse for you and a bunch of people you like to sit at a table and do something fun. If you can't find joy in simply playing a game, just take a moment to appreciate the joy and excitement of the people around you.

I use Void Linux. I switched from Arch btw because I liked their package manager, was curious about their init system runit, and still wanted a rolling release. I've used it for a little over a year now and overall I've been happy.

Leaning into the "porn" part of unixporn, we could say we"fluffed" our setup. Because like fluffers, we're making things bigger an more attractive to show off.

I would liken it to more like if Debian was a shot of whiskey, Ubuntu is like a whiskey sour. It still has whiskey as a base but enough ingredients have been added and changes have been made that it's its own thing.
