the beginning of the interview was funny as well

Naomi apparently didn't know Lando's lap time was deleted and she asked Oscar 'why am I talking to you?'

found this account on Mastodon and seems like a cool project trying to preserve some nice video game history

@OutofPrintArchive@mstdn.games

what magazines did you read as a kid? EGM was my favorite

yep

I’ll take my lower salary to sit in my home office with central air

I wouldn’t last a day as a driver with their expectations and the need to move/lift heavy packages in the heat

and apparently GS wants out of the apple card business (according to some other report I saw)

so I wonder who would take over if they do leave

stack overflow is great if you want to be berated, given an irrelevant solution, and then have your question closed as a duplicate incorrectly

anytime I saw a thread on reddit with 1,000+ comments I didn't even bother to add my own view

I do like how pretty much any thread here on the fediverse is small enough that I feel like I can make a comment and participate

According to https://lemmy.fediverse.observer/dailystats

Lemmy has ~67,500 daily active users over the past two weeks (it did peak at around 72,000)

How do you feel about the activity in your communities?

Do you think it will take another 'event' on some other website for more growth, or do you think Lemmy can grow naturally from here?

Or are you fine with the current activity and don't necessarily see the need for more users at this time?

a million times this, so many young people overwork themselves and burn out quickly

I cringe whenever a see someone has checked in code at 1am on a weekend, and these people are also working normal business hours so it’s not like they are only working at night

sadly it’s usually the same people who never take PTO either

This site is great for casual video game radio listening with a lot of retro game music

You can even request and vote on upcoming songs which is cool

my only issue with this is eventually people will hit a financial limit and only be able to support a few creators, leaving others without funding

I'm following over 30 youtube channels, even at $1/month per channel that would still be $30/month which is too much for me honestly. not to mention the fact I would have to manage 30 different subscriptions

I'd like a youtube premium style subscription where I can specify a group of channels and the money gets distributed to them only

this way my money isn't going to conspiracy channels, and I would only have a single subscription to manage

I recently requested and was approved to have a new community created on the programming.dev instance called Software Testing

This is a community for people who would like to discuss, learn, or ask questions on software testing

Unit, Integration, Functional, Automation - all the fun stuff!

QA, Devs, POs, or anyone at all are welcome!

it’s funny because I was able to get a standup desk in my home office

I’m in better shape now than when I was sitting at the office (plus zero distractions from the cOlAbErAtIvE oPeN fLoOr pLaN)

I know a Mastodon user can create a new post by mentioning a Lemmy community, but I believe it is just a text post

Here was an example I found of this:
https://lemmy.world/post/82145

Does anyone know if it is possible to create a post in Lemmy via Mastodon that is a link to somewhere else such as a website?

I suppose I could just put the link in the body of the text post but a direct link would be cool, if possible

I only tip for sit-down restaurants where an actual servers brings me my food

everywhere else I preemptively give the stank face as I mash the 'no tip' button on their payment system

I usually just round up to the next $5 amount to make the numbers clean, don't really care what the % is

so a $16.83 bill gets a $3.17 tip

this makes it easier to plan a meal budget, like "ok I'm spending $20 on a burger and fries today"
