I remember when Florida had them in large number, not like that but still maybe one every 10 feet or so on the heaviest night I've seen. It was pretty. Now I get excited if I see any at all. If I see 3 in the same night I am ecstatic.

Stop begging for censorship. That never ends up good. Accurate tagging of media is what we need and a way to filter that ourselves.

I wish they would tone down the crusade. This is some of the most interesting technology to come out in decades.

I fought hard against that for years. I still only use 'app' for phone programs, but I stopped correcting people every time they used the term for anything else. It isn't technically wrong, but it grates on my nerves for some reason.

CEO taps the 60% number and smiles. "What I see here, people, is room for growth! Inform the shareholders."

One queen is enough to seed an ant farm. Those are just particularly interesting ants, and hard to get. It is best to just have local ants for farms because then you can release them if necessary, but keeping interesting and exotic ants is more interesting than local types you probably see all the time, especially in areas without a great variety of local ants. 250 dollars for an exotic pet is pretty cheap really.

This is sort of like the advice i was given when traveling. Don't give money to begging children. They have handlers in the background who get the money and giving it incentivizes them to force more children into begging.

Has everyone forgotten about Guantanamo? There are probably people there still who just got caught up in "911" sweeps for all we know. Even if they say they've moved or transferred all of them.

Well, I'm not sure how I feel about preemptively burning your own books, willingly diving back into the stone age for no good reason. Most of the fears outlined in the article are pure speculation and over-reaction to current events. If data from 23 and Me (the source of most of this data being burned) is really getting out there to be purchased, this hiding of data and data destruction does not even inconvenience bad state actors, it only puts up a big bad-actor sourced pay wall in front of legitimate scientists. This is really a shameful cowardice at best, anti-science either way, and at worst they may be actually selling the data to someone and then deleting the public database behind a big flourish with smoke and mirrors. (Reading back my post to myself I guess I am sure how I feel about preemptively burning your own books. It makes me mad apparently. )

I wonder how far the military will follow orders... Do they have a line or will they just roll with whatever the commander in chief says?

Republicans think Trump holds conservative values because he regurgitated their speaking points. Like most politicians on any side but to an extreme level, Trump holds no values except those that he thinks will lead to more money or power for him.

I didn't realize they pegged Balatro at PEGI 18. Definitely ridiculous. Kids play poker all the time without gambling. It's a card game. I don't think there is a less objectionable game out there.
