I think the primary thing is that he mouthed off about something he didn't understand, and then doubled down at every possibility. The scrutiny generated by this has then revealed that he's objectively not a good programmer, which begs the question why he feels he has any authority at all in this arena. I haven't heard of any egregious harassment heading his way over this, so I'm curious why you're so invested in defending him.

Unfortunately, I only learned that h3 was fully off the rails after snark got pseudo-locked. All I know about Destiny is that JonTron said the white supremacist stuff to him and that he is generally agreed to suck.

As someone who had never heard of him before, this has been amazing. It's like Lemmy woke me up to tell me a new lolcow just dropped.

I think the big point of confusion is why it's cheeky to go to this restaurant.

OLED Dark Mode? (lemmy.world)
submitted 3 weeks ago* (last edited 3 weeks ago) by TheTetrapod@lemmy.world to c/boostforlemmy@lemmy.world

I was just wondering if there was any intention of bringing an OLED friendly dark mode (like, just a pitch black background) to Boost for Lemmy? I'm pretty sure there was one on the Reddit version, and I've always preferred the aesthetic, although admittedly my battery goes further than it used to.

EDIT: After seeing spiffpitt's comment, I did a couple seconds more investigation than the other 10 times I've checked in the last 2 years. The AMOLED dark mode is available under "Customize Colors", which is greyed out if "Dynamic Colors" is checked.

People always argue that -num isn't a legitimate way for the name of an element to end, but I never see you guys talking about Platinium.

This happens on Lemmy as well.

Genuinely curious if this applies to moron and idiot, since they have basically the same origin story.

Yeah, I feel like anyone giving OOP the benefit of the doubt is overlooking that part.

If something is marketed as "unlimited", I don't think there is such a thing as "wildly excessive use". This isn't a competitive eater going to an all-you-can-eat buffet and being mad about getting kicked out. It's a business using a service in a way that's seemingly in-line with what they paid for.

News outlets, I implore you, please start writing articles and stop just posting videos.

I just want to say I'm sorry, on behalf of all Americans, for exporting Black Friday to the rest of the world.
