Probably nothing....

Yeah. Front page of news.com.au. guy with 150 properties says the new changes will ramp up rent and benefit rich people

Pretty sure they've been ramping up rent anyway 😂

At least now some of it is tax, which can also be used for first home owners grant and towards helping the disadvantaged

Apple only needs to push a dodgy software update to the phone.. No need for a backdoor. All phones are registered with Apple so they know who to push to

Could be worse. Pauline could be in charge, and she'd probably actually show up to the office once or twice to make vaccination less accessible

This isn't corruption. A few steps beyond it really....

That's not true, at least not in Victoria and many other states I'm aware of. Again, I know because I used to install/configure cameras, including in carparks and even a large shopping center. It's also why most cameras don't even include a mic at all

Feel free to show us the exception in the law.

Furthermore, it wouldn't make any sense as it would be the world's most obvious loophole and violate people's privacy. As literally everyone could just claim they were trying to identify theft. And, it would still allow people to listen to the conversation if they were watching the nvr without being a part of the convo

In some states, you need to be a part of the conversation. In others, you need permission from the other side too.

This isn't just Australia, world-wide in most countries a sign doesn't count for consent

There's a reason you never see security footage on TV with audio recorded. You can possibly record a crime being performed as evidence, but, supermarket cameras would be recording all audio, including unrelated audio ..

No idea why we haven't just banned smoking in public yet.

So f**king tired of picking up cigarettes from literally random places. I find cigarettes on my nature strip every time I mow, and I don't even smoke.

And smokers aren't cleaning up after other smokers either. Can't even enter my local iga without smelling cigerette smoke outside the door

I've seen enough cigerettes thrown out of car windows too, and even had someone throw a lot cigarette on my nature strip once whilst I was sitting in my car in my driveway

I don't give a shit if people do it in their own home but it's wild that we allow it at all still

It's funny everyone is suddenly getting banned.

I was on Reddit for at least 10 years. Made a new account, kept arguing against racists

Got banned for racism, obviously by the Nazis. Never got banned in the last 2 decades. And pretty sure none of the racists got banned

But it's no surprise lemmy isn't as big. That's not a bad thing. Reddit is overrun by the same lobbyists and people who have ruined Facebook and made it no longer fun

Also, there would be ants everywhere in the vicinity after

Except the ones that submit AI slop patches to projects without even understanding it or being upfront about it

I really wish Jolla got their crap together honestly

He didn't rob everyone.. stormy Daniels however might be the only one he publicly actually ever paid (even if he tried to get a refund).

I'm willing to bet there are a lot of underage women and other women who he paid though who haven't come forward
