This is fucking bullshit.

I review science proposals for the government that come from private companies responding to an announcement about grants for specific kinds of technology.

I have to submit a financial form every year disclosing stock that I own to make sure there are no conflicts of interest.

The fact that is guy is allowed to shrug and say “nah” and just keep going blows my mind.

We live in the time of the most readily available and advanced information yet continually make the dumbest fucking decisions.

“Cavities…yeah….goddamn hadn’t had one of those in awhile, we should bring those back.”

He added: “We have languages coming into our country … they have languages that nobody in this country has ever heard of. It’s a horrible thing.”

He comes up with the weirdest shit.

My family is super Catholic & conservative. They hate the Pope and it’s so weird - growing up in Catholic school, one good thing I’ll say is that we were educated in almost every aspect of that religion and its history.

So even though I can’t remember the last time I was in a church, I do remember shit like “the pope can talk to god”.

Now, of course it’s bullshit, but I have to assume that’s the premise we start from here. If so, shut the fuck up. He talks to god. End of story.

And somewhat related - they’re MAGA types. They like their dictators. Fuck off. This is what you get.

Apologies if this is not allowed, but if you are a person in Texas who needs access to reproductive healthcare or want to help those who do, here are some resources:

Resources for Texans seeking access to healthcare:

https://aidaccess.org/en/

https://teafund.org/

https://wrrap.org/about-wrrap/

https://abortionfunds.org/

If you need help getting an abortion:

https://www.plancpills.org/

https://aidaccess.org/

these sites offer access to abortion pills, even in Texas. Please be safe and be aware of clinics (e.g. Crisis Pregnancy Centers) that give out dangerous misinformation on abortions and pregnancy.

If you want to give money to some pro-choice charities, try here:

https://fundtexaschoice.org/ - The Dallas-based nonprofit Fund Texas Choice assists Texas residents with lodging and transportation expenses to abortion clinics in and out of state. It also provides information on organizations that can help with funding the procedure.

https://www.laslibres.org/ - Las Libres is a Mexican feminist organization that supports women seeking abortions and control of their own bodies; this now includes those who contact them from the United States.

https://teafund.org/ - Texas Equal Access Fund provides funding to low-income people in the north, east, and Panhandle regions of Texas who can’t afford an abortion. It also offers emotional support through a confidential text line, support group, and virtual clinic companion program.

https://janesdueprocess.org/ - Jane’s Due Process helps young Texans navigate parental-consent laws and confidentially access abortion and birth control. It offers Texas teens and young people free legal support, one-on-one case management, and a text line for those needing information on birth control and family-planning services without parental involvement.

https://www.lilithfund.org/ - The Lilith Fund, an Austin-based nonprofit, provides direct financial assistance to Texans in central and southern regions of the state who need an abortion. It also offers an emotional-support hotline.

https://www.theafiyacenter.org/ - The Afiya Center, or TAC for short, is a reproductive-justice organization in North Texas that provides refuge, education, and other resources to Black women. The center has its own “economic enrichment campaign” focused on funding projects for women of color living with HIV/AIDS (and those at risk). It also supports programs that are providing abortion access in the state.

https://thebridgecollective.org/ - The Bridge Collective serves central Texans by offering transportation to abortion clinics for people within 100 miles of Austin. It also provides free reproductive-health resource kits to those who are within 30 miles of Austin. The kits include Plan B, pregnancy tests, condoms, and information on sexual and reproductive health.

https://avowtexas.org/ - Avow (which was previously NARAL Pro-Choice Texas) fights for abortion rights through community building, education, and political advocacy. The Avow Foundation funds research, public education, organizing, and more to educate Texans on the importance of abortion access.

A good friend of mine with a masters in Aerospace Engineering had a job offer in Texas from NASA & she turned it down because of their pro-forced birth laws.

Oh girl please. You managed to travel around the world for 4 years as a “White House advisor” without any problems. You’ll deal with it.

I upgraded from a 13 Pro to a 15 Pro. So far the only internet I’ve connected to since I got the phone is at home, but with 2 different networks (one is 5g but otherwise same router and everything).

I never updated the 13 Pro to iOS 17 because I knew I would be upgrading soon, but I never had this issue with any former phone and have been on this same internet setup since 2016.

I have an iPad Mini 6 that I did update to iOS 17, and it’s fine.

I’ve tried resetting network settings, turning off Wi-Fi assist, turning off networking and wireless in location services-> system services (saw that as a potential fix), and restarting multiple times, but it still randomly drops my WiFi signal on both home networks.

Everything else wrt network/connection on my previous phone is the same - VPN setup, etc.

My SO has a 14 pro & did update to 17 and does not have this problem.

Does anyone have any ideas? I’ve searched for answers and I see that this has been an issue off and on for the past few years, but one of the fixes I mentioned above usually seems to help I guess because I haven’t seen any other suggestions.

Could it be the phone itself? Is it worth exchanging it for another one before the 2 weeks runs out?

Thanks everyone.

Long story short, I ran into Lae’zel in the cage just after we wake up on the beach in the very beginning.

I went by her and reloaded for reasons, but accidentally went a different way after that, forgot about it, & just realized she would be good to have as a Companion during combat.

I’m about to kill the goblins, and I went back for her at her previous location but she’s no longer there. Did I lose her for good, or is there still a chance?

Thanks everyone, I’m new to BG/D&D completely so apologies if this is a dumb n00b move, but I am one :)

While the media posted by the influencer has been removed, numerous text interactions with the deleted posts from his followers are still on the platform. Some of those posts mention a child depicted in the photos as young as one and a half years old.

Source

To make matters worse, the image appears to have been on the platform for several days before being removed. Lucre even described the image in detail in a separate tweet, noting that it had been taken from a video. The video in question involved the abuse of three children, one of whom was reportedly strangled to death after the filming.

Source

The CSAM material was left up for FOUR DAYS (July 22-26) before he was even suspended. Then they let him "delete" it...and reinstated him. People commented during those 4 days DESCRIBING THE IMAGES.

What the FUCK please tell me this is worth a visit from the FBI, getting removed from the App Store, some massive GDPR violation, fucking something. How is this story not bigger news?

To put this in perspective, 4 graphic CSAM images that an account with 500,000 followers posted were left up on Twitter for 4 days. The person who posted the images was suspended for less than a day.
