And the ones that are older have been heavily modified. Even what we think of as old traditions are usually remarkably new in how they're done, even if the concept has been around for generations.

When people want "traditional [thing]", what they usually mean is "I want it like it was when I was a teenager".

Normal-weight humans burn about 2200 kilocalories a day, which is about 9.2 megajoules. There are 8640 seconds in a day, so that works out to roughly 100 joules per second, or 100 Watt. 20% of that is 20 Watts for the brain.

Hiding read posts? (sh.itjust.works)

There are a whole bunch of options to mark posts as read, but as of yet, I can't seem to find an option to actually hide to posts.

Am I missing something, or does marking a post just grey it out?
