Switching to Ubuntu from Windows is the most controversial thing I've ever done. I don't even talk about it very much, but some of my friends preemptively make passive aggressive comments about it if the subject of OSs come up and jump on any opportunity they find to make a case for Linux being less convenient than Windows. I haven't felt this way since I tried vegetarianism.

All that's to say I'm pretty wary of "helping others see the light." There's more than apathy out there and some people feel threatened by the idea of someone else taking steps to rid themselves of their dependence on Microsoft and the like.

It's because they roll up into a cute little ball and it tickles us in a way nothing else does

Was there really not a shorter title than Day of Persons With Disabilities?

Aside from being contacted by a family member or maybe some sort of contact information being left in a will, how do you discover if someone you know has died?

My non-expert but I just read a book about clouds guess:

Those cirrus clouds are typically made of ice crystals. A plane disturbed them, leaving a contrail of water. Water refracts light differently than ice, seen more clearly at dusk.

Another less serious thing: backing up the "girls don't need muscle hunks" with pictures of a bunch of famous actors, several of which are definitely jacked, is not proving the point you want it to.

I don't even care that much about the band stuff. I liked his movies when he was little, and when he started a gaming channel I realized I now find him very annoying. He comes across as full of himself and desperate for attention.

I know it's a meme but can somebody set me straight? I swear I read somewhere that this narrative started with the research community saying, essentially, "we know a number of ways in which they might have achieved this feat but we aren't sure which one they used," but the entertainment/conspiracy communities heard "there is no explanation for how these people were able to achieve this feat."

That's just not how sustainable charity or development works, especially when it comes to things like building wells. There are existing charities that can do more than he does with the money he spends and have sustainable methods of doing so. Maybe some of them aren't great, but if he actually wanted to address those issues he could set up a foundation with people who know how to do that work.

Is everybody just phoning it in for a boss that just needs you to do busy work?

Terry Pratchett! The Discworld books have kept me busy for years now and I don't even consider myself much of a reader.
