I dunno, I feel like I'm way more inclined to reach for the whisky in this technofascist dystopian hell-prison than I'd be if my entire life was grazing through the bush.

You're looking for the fission restaurant. They're in that barn across the street; just make sure you walk in to the barn instead of running past it

And who says scientists are humourless?!

When the gnocchi phase is compressed, as would be expected in deeper layers of the crust, the electric repulsion of the protons in the gnocchi is not fully sufficient to support the existence of the individual spheres, and they are crushed into long rods, which, depending on their length, can contain many thousands of nucleons. These rods are known as the spaghetti phase. Further compression causes the spaghetti phase rods to fuse and form sheets of nuclear matter called the lasagna phase. Further compression of the lasagna phase yields the uniform nuclear matter of the outer core. Progressing deeper into the inner crust, the holes in the nuclear pasta change from being cylindrical, called by some the bucatini phase or antispaghetti phase, into scattered spherical holes, which can be called the Swiss cheese phase.

Riiight, and how much of that is due to things being in actual "real-world" use, and how much of that is due to speculation?

To give you an actual answer, it means "artificial general intelligence"

And media analysis is like the least creepy shit Apple does. They also analyse your social networks (based on who you interact with using Apple services), and the database where they store that shit has labels for eg. political affiliations etc. (can't remember off-hand which of the many many Apple spyware dbs it was. One of the sqlite databases under ~/Library in any case. Might have been the appropriately named IntelligencePlatform databases, but I'm too lazy to check right now)

Your description is basically of a "spherical CEO in a vacuum", ie. the ideal and abstract version of how corporations should operate. It has very little to do with reality

the recycling system is broken and often just a complete lie in many places in the world.

In many places in the world, or mainly the US? I keep seeing this claim repeated but usually any proof is just about the US

As someone with an autoimmune disorder, I'm honestly not all that sold on whether that's a good tradeoff.

Yay, you're not acutely dying of cancer, but now your body is attacking your internal organs and depending on how shitty your luck is, you can eg. look forward to liver and/or kidney transplants (possibly more than once, too)

I keep saying this but it feels like the Dems are a Russia-style controlled opposition party.

Doesn't mean 100% of them are garbage, but the leadership sure does seem like it hates the idea of successful opposition
