Just woke up. 28 new applications! Each time i refresh the page i get two new apps.

Welcome to all former users of r/GenP! An admin is talking to one of their mods about getting their community onto here, hopefully we can work something out.

I hope you all like the Instance, and Lemmy as a whole.

But guys... You gotta read the application ;) Just because it's simple doesn't mean you get to ignore and get it wrong completely :D

Glad to be here. Can anyone give me a recommendation of a good VPN for p2p or should I get a vps and run my app from there? I used Vuze and utorrent back in the day and am out of the loop. Just tired of the 10 subscriptions these days and then my show ends up switching to a different provider that I don't have. Also, I'm boycotting Spotify and have my old iPod back out. Forgot how much I loved that thing!

if you'retech-savvy-: mullvad VPN, and a selfhosted seedbox using qbittorrent or deluge (both are FOSS torrent clients)

if you're not as tech savvy: protonVPN, (and their app suite with the "unlimited" package, its really good, and a good price for how much you get), plus qbitorrent.

and whatever you do.... MAKE SURE TO BIND THE CLIENT TO THE VPN INTERFACE

I am in no way against paid software.

I am, however, against

  1. actively making sure that people, who can't afford it, don't get the software

  2. only offering your software as a subscription service

  3. only offering a license that can be revoked at any point instead of the actual software.

In the official discord server they promoted revolt/dbzer0 a lot. I joined both (before the revolt existed) and pretty much fanned the flames lmao.

Nice admin. Met lots of cool people.

Adobe thought it would be funny to send a cease and desist to Reddit and Discord which were our only two communities. We just switched to Lemmy and Revolt, and will setup a self-hosted matrix server in the future.
