I last looked at this graph a few months ago. New data has been added. It just gets worse each time…
Average high temperature for October is about 14° and we have almost 30 today so October is off to a great start as well
Yeah...last month in our area, 10/30 days were above the 90th percentile for heat. August was 14/31. Even my heat loving tomatoes stopped growing and fruiting for the summer months.
Before I went and look this up, I felt in my gut that something had changed. I worry we hit a tipping point without realizing it this year. Maybe it's just the El Nino, though.
Obviously to be taken with a grain of salt, but I tend to look at both worst case and best case scenarios.
Collapse
We have moved to https://lemm.ee/c/collapse -- please adjust your subscriptions
This is the place for discussing the potential collapse of modern civilization and the environment.
Collapse, in this context, refers to the significant loss of an established level or complexity towards a much simpler state. It can occur differently within many areas, orderly or chaotically, and be willing or unwilling. It does not necessarily imply human extinction or a singular, global event. Although, the longer the duration, the more it resembles a ‘decline’ instead of collapse.
